Hello! I’m Paul Kelly, the photographer behind The Closer Look.

For me, photography is about seeing the unnoticed. It is a quiet practice of patience and perspective. Whether I'm waiting in the freezing cold for a Great Blue Heron to land on the ice, or capturing the rushing transition of an autumn waterfall, my goal is to freeze those fleeting, often-overlooked moments in time.

My portfolio spans Nature and Wildlife, City/Town Scapes, Landscapes, and Black and White photography, but the running theme is always the same: taking a moment to pause, look a little closer, and appreciate the intricate details of the world around us.
